Pizza on the Farm at Grassway Ogranics: A Family Tradition in the
Our visit to Grassway Organics felt like discovering something truly special. Instead of dining out, we packed up the kids, a few lawn chairs, and made the short drive to East Troy. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the smells of the farm , the sounds of an acoustic guitar, and the view of families spread out across the hillside enjoying the night.
We grabbed a picnic table, ordered drinks, and enjoyed the music as the pizzas came out of the wood-fired ovens. Our kids loved seeing the cows grazing nearby and wandering the farm paths. The whole experience was peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for families with children.
What to Expect When You Visit Grassway Organics
Pizza on the Farm is open Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 to 8 p.m. from May through September. There are no reservations, so it’s a good idea to arrive early. Seating is first-come, and most guests bring their own picnic blankets, chairs, or folding tables.
The pizzas are cooked to order in wood-fired ovens that reach nearly 800 degrees. Each one has a rustic, smoky flavor and a perfectly crisp crust. The bar serves beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. I particularly appreciated them offering a quality non-alcoholic IPA from Untitled Art that was delicious.
Food, Music, and Community at Grassway
Live music starts around 4 p.m. and the lineup changes each weekend. Whether it’s folk, acoustic, or something with a little twang, the music adds to the laid-back atmosphere. The space feels like a true community gathering, with kids playing, adults relaxing, and everyone enjoying great food in the open air.
Farm Life Up Close: A Unique Experience for Kids and Adults
One of the highlights for our family was the chance to interact with the farm. Our kids were fascinated by the cows grazing in the nearby field. Grassway encourages visitors to walk the paths, explore the scenery, and enjoy the views. Some areas are off limits for safety, but there’s still plenty of room to explore.
We saw atleast one farm dogs roaming the property. There’s plenty to keep kids entertained beyond the cows. A gaga pit, hay bales for climbing, a slide, and an old tractor to play on turn the grassy space into a mini adventure zone. It’s the kind of setting where kids can burn off energy while adults relax nearby with a slice and a drink. Another great option is to bring a deck of cards and play some games while enjoying the music!
